schouw

At the end of each semester you have to show your work. Jury will come along (3 teachers) and they will judge and criticize your work. It's always little stressy, but fun as well. They were very positive about my works :)

Nappy stillive

My teacher is daddy since tuesday. That inspired me and my friend Thijske, we thought we should do something to celebrate it. It came out to make a stillife of a nappy.
Idea was to paint it as if it is a special object.

And this is the result! For in the babyroom ;)

Trompe-l'oeil

Trompe-l'oeil. It's a painting style, suggesting there is something realistic.
I made this cupboard to suggest it's really there and you can open it.
I experimenting when it would be finished. I painted it half now, cause you can imagine how it will look when it's finished. Your eye will complete the painting

oil on canvas, 170 x 130 cm

Luxaflex

This is a luxaflex with a paintree behind, shadow coming trough. It will give another dimention to a place, suggesting there is something behind it.

Radiator

I painted a radiator to point out the standart of it's use. It's in every house, but on a place that you don't notice it. What will happen if you hang it on 'eye hight' ? I think it will make it look bizar.

shoes in Granada

And here the shoes in a much better canvas size. I think it makes more sense this way, because it's about the shoes and where ever you look in this paiting, it will bring you to the shoes.

Oil on canvas, 130 x 60 cm
I decided to cut the canvas in half. So here you have a narrow street in Granada

130 x 120

Granada

This was a narrow street in Granada. There were shoes hanging on a cable. I have read about shoes hanging on cables, because they seem to do it a lot in Spain. Aparently its for boys when they loose there virginity or when they are getting married.
Also at some places it has to do something with drugs, for me, well I just liked the shoes hanging there, but when I finished this work of,.. I wasn't sure about the canvas size.....

Bloopers

This is one of my new inventions. It's called 'tea fishing-rod'. So that you don't have to walk all the way to the person who wants a cup of tea, you can serve people from a distance.
